Science Week 2015

St. Fiach’s celebrated Science Week Ireland: November 8th-15th 2015. Each class practiced their investigation and experimental skills through many experiments that covered a wide range of the Science curriculum strands. 5th and 6th class visited Oldcastle Library for a very worthwhile Science Workshop with Heather Bothwell. The children were introduced to taxidermy. There was an owl, a mouse and a stoat on display. The children were also given the opportunity to use a microscope to see exactly what lives on rush leaves. Please ask your children to explain the findings!!
