We learned about different types of bridges such as arched and suspension bridges and discussed what they were used for. We investigated 4 bridges to see which type of bridge would be able to support the most weight. 1: Bridge with a single sheet of paper, 2: A walled bridge where the sides were folded up, 3: An arched bridge, where a flat sheet of paper was supported by an arched sheet underneath, 4: A corrugated bridge, where a sheet of paper was folded many times. We discovered that the corrugated bridge was able to support the most weight, we just couldn’t get over it! There were some very inventive bridges designed at home that evening.
