Fáilte go Scoil Naomh Fiach!

As Principal of St. Fiach’s N.S., I am thrilled to welcome you to our vibrant and close-knit school community. Nestled in Ballinacree, our school is a place where children flourish academically, socially, and spiritually. At St. Fiach’s, we celebrate the individuality of each student, helping them develop into confident and compassionate individuals, fully aware of their unique talents and role in the world.

We are especially proud of our rich tradition of academic excellence, participation in sports and the arts, and our commitment to environmental sustainability through initiatives like the Green Flag program. Our dedicated staff fosters a spirit of curiosity and creativity, guiding students through a range of enriching activities, from Seachtain na Gaeilge Week to Active Week celebrations, where fun and learning go hand in hand.

Our Catholic ethos inspires us to create a nurturing environment where children can deepen their faith, develop lasting friendships, and cultivate a positive attitude towards life. Tá sé mar aidhm againn cabhrú le gach páiste a bheith sásta agus muiníneach, agus muid ag forbairt ár gcreideamh mar phobal láidir agus tacúil.

Go raibh míle maith agat as do spéis, agus tá súil againn go mbainfidh tú taitneamh as d’eolas a fháil faoi Scoil Naomh Fiach.

Communion 2023

Congratulations to our 2nd class students who received the sacrament of First Holy Communion. Thanks to Fr. O’Connor for a lovely ceremony and to Ms. Duggan and Ms. Smith for brilliant preparation. Thanks also to our PA for providing refreshments in our new hall.

JEP Sales Day

A big thank you to everyone who supported the 5th and 6th class JEP business on Wednesday. We had a great afternoon of wheeling and dealing. All of our friendship bracelets sold which means we raised €160 for Amnesty International Ireland.

Biodiversity Workshop (senior classes)

Our seniors took part in a Biodiversity, Pollinator and Habitat Workshop with Edel from Heritage schools. We were given an interactive talk about wild bees and honeybees and how the All Ireland Pollinator Plan has been developed to help them. We got to see what the inside of a beehive looks like and taste some natural honey. We also went outside and populated a map of our school with flora and fauna we identified. We learned so much over the to our session. Needless to say, we were absolutely buzzing!

3rd/4th Class Football Blitz

We had a wonderful afternoon last Thursday, in Moylagh GAA grounds, where we attended a football blitz for 3rd and 4th class children. Carnaross NS, Moylagh NS, and Gilson NS also were represented. Thanks to Ian Malone (Meath GPO) for organising the event. Well done to our students who competed excellently.
