Fáilte go Scoil Naomh Fiach!

As Principal of St. Fiach’s N.S., I am thrilled to welcome you to our vibrant and close-knit school community. Nestled in Ballinacree, our school is a place where children flourish academically, socially, and spiritually. At St. Fiach’s, we celebrate the individuality of each student, helping them develop into confident and compassionate individuals, fully aware of their unique talents and role in the world.

We are especially proud of our rich tradition of academic excellence, participation in sports and the arts, and our commitment to environmental sustainability through initiatives like the Green Flag program. Our dedicated staff fosters a spirit of curiosity and creativity, guiding students through a range of enriching activities, from Seachtain na Gaeilge Week to Active Week celebrations, where fun and learning go hand in hand.

Our Catholic ethos inspires us to create a nurturing environment where children can deepen their faith, develop lasting friendships, and cultivate a positive attitude towards life. Tá sé mar aidhm againn cabhrú le gach páiste a bheith sásta agus muiníneach, agus muid ag forbairt ár gcreideamh mar phobal láidir agus tacúil.

Go raibh míle maith agat as do spéis, agus tá súil againn go mbainfidh tú taitneamh as d’eolas a fháil faoi Scoil Naomh Fiach.

Plants (1st and 2nd)

In science, First and Second Class were learning about what plants need to grow. For our investigation everyone planted seeds in pots and left them on the windowsill . We have our control in the dark press and we will monitor all pots over the coming weeks. Watch this space !!

Procedural Writing (1st and 2nd)

The children were doing procedural writing in English and for Halloween everyone thought of their own recipe ‘ How to turn teacher into a toad’.!! The children had great fun writing this. Teacher was afraid to drink her coffee in the morning !!

Maths Week 2022

Thanks to everyone who participated in Maths Week 2022. We had great fun estimating, measuring and comparing during a variety of activities.

First and Second Class did a maths trail around the school . They worked in pairs and had great fun.

Fruit and Vegetables (3rd and 4th)

We learned about many different types of fruit and vegetables in Geography. We decided we’d try some out to see if they tasted as good as they looked. We ate raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, cheery tomatoes, raw broccoli and raw carrots. Some we love, some not so much, but we were all very brave to try each one.
