Fáilte go Scoil Naomh Fiach!

As Principal of St. Fiach’s N.S., I am thrilled to welcome you to our vibrant and close-knit school community. Nestled in Ballinacree, our school is a place where children flourish academically, socially, and spiritually. At St. Fiach’s, we celebrate the individuality of each student, helping them develop into confident and compassionate individuals, fully aware of their unique talents and role in the world.

We are especially proud of our rich tradition of academic excellence, participation in sports and the arts, and our commitment to environmental sustainability through initiatives like the Green Flag program. Our dedicated staff fosters a spirit of curiosity and creativity, guiding students through a range of enriching activities, from Seachtain na Gaeilge Week to Active Week celebrations, where fun and learning go hand in hand.

Our Catholic ethos inspires us to create a nurturing environment where children can deepen their faith, develop lasting friendships, and cultivate a positive attitude towards life. Tá sé mar aidhm againn cabhrú le gach páiste a bheith sásta agus muiníneach, agus muid ag forbairt ár gcreideamh mar phobal láidir agus tacúil.

Go raibh míle maith agat as do spéis, agus tá súil againn go mbainfidh tú taitneamh as d’eolas a fháil faoi Scoil Naomh Fiach.

Food Dudes Programme

Food Dudes is a programme developed to encourage children to eat more fruit and vegetables both in school and at home. It is based on positive role models (the Food Dudes characters), repeated tasting and rewards.

Every child made a huge effort eating their daily fruit and vegetables and achieved their rewards. We have completed Phase 1 of the programme today and we are looking forward to Phase 2. For more information, please click the following link:  http://www.fooddudes.ie

Christmas Countdown 2017

The weather outside is frightful but the fire inside’s delightful! That Christmas feeling is upon us again here at St. Fiach’s. Special thanks to Claire, our local postlady, for bringing in Santa’s special postbox. The children were very busy writing their letters and posting them to Santa. Now let’s be patient and wait……..

GAA Coaching: Infants – 2nd Class

Viva la Mexico!

Hola!

First and Second Class were learning about Mexico as a country for geography this term. After researching the country in class and at home they made project booklets containing information about the Mexican culture; food they eat, the language they speak, traditions etc. On Friday they had a ‘Mexican Day’ where they made sombrero hats and tasted some of their food. Everyone brought in the ingredients for tacos and all the children had great fun tasting this delicious food. Mrs Smith put on some Mexican music and the all children put on their sombreros and danced the afternoon away!!
