Fáilte go Scoil Naomh Fiach!
As Principal of St. Fiach’s N.S., I am thrilled to welcome you to our vibrant and close-knit school community. Nestled in Ballinacree, our school is a place where children flourish academically, socially, and spiritually. At St. Fiach’s, we celebrate the individuality of each student, helping them develop into confident and compassionate individuals, fully aware of their unique talents and role in the world.
We are especially proud of our rich tradition of academic excellence, participation in sports and the arts, and our commitment to environmental sustainability through initiatives like the Green Flag program. Our dedicated staff fosters a spirit of curiosity and creativity, guiding students through a range of enriching activities, from Seachtain na Gaeilge Week to Active Week celebrations, where fun and learning go hand in hand.
Our Catholic ethos inspires us to create a nurturing environment where children can deepen their faith, develop lasting friendships, and cultivate a positive attitude towards life. Tá sé mar aidhm againn cabhrú le gach páiste a bheith sásta agus muiníneach, agus muid ag forbairt ár gcreideamh mar phobal láidir agus tacúil.
Go raibh míle maith agat as do spéis, agus tá súil againn go mbainfidh tú taitneamh as d’eolas a fháil faoi Scoil Naomh Fiach.

15th September 2017: Our senior classes (3rd-6th) had a wonderful day visiting our local historical sites. Firstly, we visited the Heritage Centre and Seamus put on a wonderful presentation for the children. He discussed the origins of the Ballinacree Banner and the meaning behind the images on the banner. That brought us on to other symbols of Ireland…..the harp, the Irish Flag etc. Thank you Seamus for taking the time to educate our students on our local history.
Afterwards we travelled to the cave where the Crossdrum Chalice was discovered in 1750. Seán McCabe explained the history of the souterrain and how the chalice was discovered. The children got to crawl into the cave to visit the site! Well done everyone and thanks to Seán and Cillian for facilitating the tour!

We would like to welcome all staff and students back to St. Fiach’s for another exciting school year. Céad míle fáilte to our new junior infants and we wish them well on their new journey!
To celebrate the start of our new school year, and Friendship Week, our students linked hands all around the school! WE ARE TOGETHER!

The Cumann na mBunscol medals were presented to our victorious players on Celebration Day. It was a really proud day for St. Fiach’s NS on Saturday June 10th in Pairc Tailteann. It was an honour to welcome Meath football stars Mickey Burke and Michael Flood to our celebrations. We really appreciated the lads taking time to present our boys with their medals. They were over the moon!!

Farewell Dr. Bennett!
We would like to bid farewell to Mrs. Bennett and wish her the best of luck in her new role in Dublin. Fr. O’Connor summed up Mrs. Bennett’s achievements in his tribute to her. The Parents Association also presented her with a parting gift and we had a few lovely words from Ann Russell too.
Graduation ceremony
Our 6th class students had the opportunity to share some of their primary school memories with their parents and teachers. We would like to wish you all the best in secondary school. Remember – Always try your best!

Celebration Day
We were blessed with super weather for our Celebration Day 2017. This year we achieved our 3rd Green Flag, the JEP 2017 flag, Pride of Place Level 5 Award and the Discovery Primary Science and Maths Award. Well done to all the students who delivered the speeches and raised the flags. Thanks to Mary for supplying the cake and to our fantastic Parents Association for providing refreshments.
