Fáilte go Scoil Naomh Fiach!

As Principal of St. Fiach’s N.S., I am thrilled to welcome you to our vibrant and close-knit school community. Nestled in Ballinacree, our school is a place where children flourish academically, socially, and spiritually. At St. Fiach’s, we celebrate the individuality of each student, helping them develop into confident and compassionate individuals, fully aware of their unique talents and role in the world.

We are especially proud of our rich tradition of academic excellence, participation in sports and the arts, and our commitment to environmental sustainability through initiatives like the Green Flag program. Our dedicated staff fosters a spirit of curiosity and creativity, guiding students through a range of enriching activities, from Seachtain na Gaeilge Week to Active Week celebrations, where fun and learning go hand in hand.

Our Catholic ethos inspires us to create a nurturing environment where children can deepen their faith, develop lasting friendships, and cultivate a positive attitude towards life. Tá sé mar aidhm againn cabhrú le gach páiste a bheith sásta agus muiníneach, agus muid ag forbairt ár gcreideamh mar phobal láidir agus tacúil.

Go raibh míle maith agat as do spéis, agus tá súil againn go mbainfidh tú taitneamh as d’eolas a fháil faoi Scoil Naomh Fiach.

Grandparents Day 2017

We celebrated our annual Grandparents Day on Wednesday February 1st, St Brigid’s Day. Grandparents, parents and friends of our children in 2nd and 6th class gathered in the church for a special service led by Fr. O’Connor. Each read out their beautiful and heartfelt messages to their grandparents. Grandparents play a special role in a child’s life so we love having the opportunity to honour them on occasions such as this.

A special thanks to Ms. Bennett and Ms. Smith for organising the celebrations and also to the Parents Association for providing the refreshments in Ballinacree Community Centre.

Oral Healthcare Programme 2017

Oral healthcare is often overlooked with our children so this is a very worthwhile annual programme. Our teeth are vital for our speech, smile and chewing food. A special thanks must go to Mary from the HSE who spoke to the infants and 3rd/4th  classes about the importance of taking care of our teeth. It is important that we eat healthy foods and brush twice daily to keep the plague and decay away! All children received a toothbrush, toothpaste and a certificate for taking part in the programme. Maith Sibh!

They also tasted a range of spices like nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, oregan and paprika! Very hot n spicy!!
