Our wonderful Christmas elf, Eamonn, was spotted making his way out of Ballinacree on Christmas Day. ‘Only 365 days and one second left’ he said!!

Fáilte go Scoil Naomh Fiach!
As Principal of St. Fiach’s N.S., I am thrilled to welcome you to our vibrant and close-knit school community. Nestled in Ballinacree, our school is a place where children flourish academically, socially, and spiritually. At St. Fiach’s, we celebrate the individuality of each student, helping them develop into confident and compassionate individuals, fully aware of their unique talents and role in the world.
We are especially proud of our rich tradition of academic excellence, participation in sports and the arts, and our commitment to environmental sustainability through initiatives like the Green Flag program. Our dedicated staff fosters a spirit of curiosity and creativity, guiding students through a range of enriching activities, from Seachtain na Gaeilge Week to Active Week celebrations, where fun and learning go hand in hand.
Our Catholic ethos inspires us to create a nurturing environment where children can deepen their faith, develop lasting friendships, and cultivate a positive attitude towards life. Tá sé mar aidhm againn cabhrú le gach páiste a bheith sásta agus muiníneach, agus muid ag forbairt ár gcreideamh mar phobal láidir agus tacúil.
Go raibh míle maith agat as do spéis, agus tá súil againn go mbainfidh tú taitneamh as d’eolas a fháil faoi Scoil Naomh Fiach.

Our annual Christmas concert took place on Friday, December 16th in Ballinacree Community Hall. There was a fabulous crowd in attendance to watch our wonderful starlets perform. Our junior classes performed the nativity play Mid-wife Crisis and our senior classes had a Top of the Pops Christmas Special! We are so proud of each and every one of our very talented students and I’m sure their families are very proud also.
Special thanks must go to Seamus for being so patient and understanding with us during our rehearsals in the hall. Also thanks to the wonderful Parents Association who made our journeys, to and from the hall, safe.
Please enjoy the gallery from the great night:
The Christmas feeling has arrived in spades at St. Fiach’s! Our children were busy writing their Christmas letters to Santa and all letters were posted. Thanks to our local post woman, Claire, for specially delivering the letters! We also have been busy making fabulous decorations and story boards for display in the school, church and hall. Very exciting times!!
It was wonderful to welcome back the famous ecologist, Dale Treadwell, to St. Fiach’s recently. Dale brings great enthusiasm to his workshops and they are most enjoyable. On this occasion Dale explored the world of dinosaurs with the children. He had some fabulous videos to show how the dinosaurs lived and behaved. He also showed the children that all the continents on earth can fit together as one gigantic continent, just as it was millions of years ago. He also showed the infant classes some of his creepy crawlies! Thank you very much Dale for your visit and for bringing Benjo!
Internet Safety is very important to us at St. Fiach’s NS. In this Digital Age, more and more children are gaining unrestricted access to digital devices. Children of the Digital Age provide presentations to school children and their parents to educate them on internet usage. We would like to thank James Neary who facilitated the presentation to our children and parents. It was a very worthwhile and engaging day and we hope that everyone is more aware of the potential dangers of internet usage.
