A massive congratulations to our local GAA club, St. Brigids GFC, on winning the Junior B county final on Saturday in Pairc Tailteann. Thanks to all the lads for popping in and sharing the experience with the children.

Fruit and Vegetables (3rd and 4th)
We learned about many different types of fruit and vegetables in Geography. We decided we’d try some out to see if they tasted as good as they looked. We ate raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, cheery tomatoes, raw broccoli and raw carrots. Some we love, some not so much, but we were all very brave to try each one.
Cumann na mBunscol 2022/23
Our last group games, for boys and girls, finished up on Thursday last (13th) against Kilskyre NS. It was a beautiful autumn’s day and there was some lovely football on show. Well done to everyone for putting in a great effort this year. Special thanks to Hughie and Martin for lining out the pitch and having the dressing rooms open for each match.
Library Visit (3rd-6th)
As part of the Children’s Book Festival, the children of 3rd, 4th, 5th
and 6th had the privilege of meeting with one of Ireland’s most famous
authors, Maurita Conlon McKenna. Maurita is widely known for her
trilogy, The Children of the Famine. Many of the children had read
Under the Hawthorn Tree and some even had the opportunity to get their
own copy of the book signed.
Joining Mr. McHugh’s Fianna
We learned about Fionn and the Fianna in History. To join the Fianna, a warrior had to pass a series of tests. We were put to through our paces by Mr.McHugh to see if we were worthy of being in his Fianna, thankfully we all passed.
One of our challenges was to run a lap of the court, while eating Rice Krispies, without spilling any milk! We also had to tie our shoes while walking, this one was tricky!
