Congratulations to the students in 2nd class who received the sacrament of First Holy Communion on Saturday. They carried out their tasks excellently. Thanks to Fr. O’Connor for a lovely ceremony and to Ms. Traynor for her beautiful singing. Thanks to all the parents for providing refreshments in the Community Hall.
5th and 6th Class have begun a programme called Exploring Insects through the Senses. This week we focused on sight. The children created a 50cm square and placed it outside in an area of flowers. They watched and waited for 10minutes to see what insects landed in their 50cm area. The children identified the different insects using what we had learned in the classroom and then they recorded their observations.
5th and 6th Class explored the feelings of happiness, sadness and excitement through their own poetry. Using their typing skills, which are being developed on typing.com, they typed up their poetry. The poems will be printed and displayed outside our classroom.
Best wishes to our past pupil, Alan Moore, who has been selected once more to represent Ireland at this summer’s Cerebral Palsy Soccer World Cup (see insta link below). Alan not only endures disability but has also had two battles with cancer and really is an inspiration for how far a positive attitude will take you!
All our students participated in a wonderful Easter egg hunt to round off our 2nd term. Thanks to Ms. Reynolds for organising the hunt.
