Fáilte go Scoil Naomh Fiach!

As Principal of St. Fiach’s N.S., I am thrilled to welcome you to our vibrant and close-knit school community. Nestled in Ballinacree, our school is a place where children flourish academically, socially, and spiritually. At St. Fiach’s, we celebrate the individuality of each student, helping them develop into confident and compassionate individuals, fully aware of their unique talents and role in the world.

We are especially proud of our rich tradition of academic excellence, participation in sports and the arts, and our commitment to environmental sustainability through initiatives like the Green Flag program. Our dedicated staff fosters a spirit of curiosity and creativity, guiding students through a range of enriching activities, from Seachtain na Gaeilge Week to Active Week celebrations, where fun and learning go hand in hand.

Our Catholic ethos inspires us to create a nurturing environment where children can deepen their faith, develop lasting friendships, and cultivate a positive attitude towards life. Tá sé mar aidhm againn cabhrú le gach páiste a bheith sásta agus muiníneach, agus muid ag forbairt ár gcreideamh mar phobal láidir agus tacúil.

Go raibh míle maith agat as do spéis, agus tá súil againn go mbainfidh tú taitneamh as d’eolas a fháil faoi Scoil Naomh Fiach.

Sports Day 2021

Monday, June 14th

Sports Day is back!! It was great to be able to hold our annual Sports Day on Monday. Thankfully the weather was perfect for the occasion. All students took part in various races, challenges and skills activities. Thanks to St. Brigid’s GAA Club for the use of their wonderful pitch. Well done to everyone for their participation and thanks to the teachers for organising the day. Enjoy the videos and photo gallery below!

First Confession

Congratulations to our 2nd class students who received the Sacrament  of Reconciliation today. Thanks to Fr. O’Connor for the lovely ceremony and to the wonderful parents for their attendance.

Egypt (3rd and 4th)

Our History in May was spent learning about the Ancient Egyptians. From Pharaohs and Pyramids to hieroglyphics and mummification, this was a fascinating topic for all. We carried out an experiment to see if we could mummify a quarter of an apple and compared our attempts to another quarter control apple. After a week, we checked our apples and the results were both interesting and disgusting but it was amazing to see the effects of the mummification process on the apples. We presented our Egyptian projects on Friday and yet again we created some very impressive pieces of work.
