Fáilte go Scoil Naomh Fiach!

As Principal of St. Fiach’s N.S., I am thrilled to welcome you to our vibrant and close-knit school community. Nestled in Ballinacree, our school is a place where children flourish academically, socially, and spiritually. At St. Fiach’s, we celebrate the individuality of each student, helping them develop into confident and compassionate individuals, fully aware of their unique talents and role in the world.

We are especially proud of our rich tradition of academic excellence, participation in sports and the arts, and our commitment to environmental sustainability through initiatives like the Green Flag program. Our dedicated staff fosters a spirit of curiosity and creativity, guiding students through a range of enriching activities, from Seachtain na Gaeilge Week to Active Week celebrations, where fun and learning go hand in hand.

Our Catholic ethos inspires us to create a nurturing environment where children can deepen their faith, develop lasting friendships, and cultivate a positive attitude towards life. Tá sé mar aidhm againn cabhrú le gach páiste a bheith sásta agus muiníneach, agus muid ag forbairt ár gcreideamh mar phobal láidir agus tacúil.

Go raibh míle maith agat as do spéis, agus tá súil againn go mbainfidh tú taitneamh as d’eolas a fháil faoi Scoil Naomh Fiach.

Leaving a Legacy! (6th Class)

Our 6th Class students embarked on a painting project this week, leaving us a colourful reminder of their time here at St. Fiach’s. The class of 2021 have been a wonderful addition to the school for the past 8 years and have shown resilience and maturity during the last 15 months. We hope they enjoy their last couple of weeks of primary school.

GAA Coaching 2021

Thanks to Ian and Meath GAA for coaching all students for the last 5 weeks of the term. The students really enjoy learning and implementing the new skills.

Run Around Ireland (Active Flag)

The students in Mr. McHugh’s classroom were very busy, over the Easter holidays, counting their steps! Mr. McHugh set a 1/2 Million Step Challenge. All the Fitbits were on full tilt! Well done to everyone for their participation.

Mr. Donohoe’s classroom are currently (last 4 weeks) partaking in ‘Run Around Ireland’ challenge. Best of luck!

Get Out Of Your Seat!!

ASF supports schools to identify strategies to energise the school day and to reduce sedentary time. Research shows that active children find it easier to concentrate and focus, achieve higher test results, behave better and enjoy school more.

Each class has come up with strategies to reduce sedentary time. Thanks to the teachers and students for participating.

Primary Aquatics Water Safety (PAWS)

1st and 2nd class students participated in the PAWS programme this week. They learned lots about water safety at home, on farms, in swimming pools and at the beach. Well done everyone!
