Fáilte go Scoil Naomh Fiach!

As Principal of St. Fiach’s N.S., I am thrilled to welcome you to our vibrant and close-knit school community. Nestled in Ballinacree, our school is a place where children flourish academically, socially, and spiritually. At St. Fiach’s, we celebrate the individuality of each student, helping them develop into confident and compassionate individuals, fully aware of their unique talents and role in the world.

We are especially proud of our rich tradition of academic excellence, participation in sports and the arts, and our commitment to environmental sustainability through initiatives like the Green Flag program. Our dedicated staff fosters a spirit of curiosity and creativity, guiding students through a range of enriching activities, from Seachtain na Gaeilge Week to Active Week celebrations, where fun and learning go hand in hand.

Our Catholic ethos inspires us to create a nurturing environment where children can deepen their faith, develop lasting friendships, and cultivate a positive attitude towards life. Tá sé mar aidhm againn cabhrú le gach páiste a bheith sásta agus muiníneach, agus muid ag forbairt ár gcreideamh mar phobal láidir agus tacúil.

Go raibh míle maith agat as do spéis, agus tá súil againn go mbainfidh tú taitneamh as d’eolas a fháil faoi Scoil Naomh Fiach.

Celebration Day 2019

We held this year’s Celebration Day on Friday, June 14th. Thanks to Carmel Halpin, from the HSE, for attending and presenting us with our 2nd Health Promoting Schools flag. This year we also achieved our 3rd Blue Star flag for our work on the European Union. Our 5th and 6th class students received their Junior Entrepreneur Programme medals and certificates and raised the JEP flag. Finally, we continued our superb Discover Primary Maths and Science record by achieving our 8th DPSM Plaque of Excellence! Well done to all our students for their great work this year. Thanks also to all the teachers for their efforts, especially Ms. Sorohan for her leadership with the HPS programme.

Our senior classes went to Derrymore Springs on their school tour. In the morning there was some target practice and a lovely nature walk in the forest around the lake. The afternoon was action packed with water activities, including kayaking and the water adventure centre! Thanks to Pat and the gang for providing a great day’s entertainment.

Fr. Alo Connaughton – 50 Years Anniversary

A huge congratulations to Fr. Alo Connaughton who celebrated the Golden Jubilee of his ordination recently. Fr. Alo has done great work, as a Columban missionary, over the years but he never forgets where he grew up. He visited our 5th and 6th class students to share his stories from China. Thank your Fr. Alo!
