Fáilte go Scoil Naomh Fiach!
As Principal of St. Fiach’s N.S., I am thrilled to welcome you to our vibrant and close-knit school community. Nestled in Ballinacree, our school is a place where children flourish academically, socially, and spiritually. At St. Fiach’s, we celebrate the individuality of each student, helping them develop into confident and compassionate individuals, fully aware of their unique talents and role in the world.
We are especially proud of our rich tradition of academic excellence, participation in sports and the arts, and our commitment to environmental sustainability through initiatives like the Green Flag program. Our dedicated staff fosters a spirit of curiosity and creativity, guiding students through a range of enriching activities, from Seachtain na Gaeilge Week to Active Week celebrations, where fun and learning go hand in hand.
Our Catholic ethos inspires us to create a nurturing environment where children can deepen their faith, develop lasting friendships, and cultivate a positive attitude towards life. Tá sé mar aidhm againn cabhrú le gach páiste a bheith sásta agus muiníneach, agus muid ag forbairt ár gcreideamh mar phobal láidir agus tacúil.
Go raibh míle maith agat as do spéis, agus tá súil againn go mbainfidh tú taitneamh as d’eolas a fháil faoi Scoil Naomh Fiach.

‘How much sugar is there in yoghurt?’ was investigated by the HPS committee. We looked at the Nutrition Information and calculated how much ‘of which sugars’ per 100g the yoghurt contained. When you divide the ‘of which sugars’ by 4, you get how many teaspoons of sugar is in it. We checked out 50 types of yoghurt. The highest sugar content was in ‘Muller Chocolate Corners’. The lowest was in natural yoghurt. We created a wonderful display of our research.

We had a superb day for the Junior Entrepreneur Programme National Showcase Day in The RDS, Dublin. There were over 200 schools in attendance and the place was packed! Our ‘Smart Trough’ team set up their stall and soon after there was plenty of interest in their product from other students and teachers alike. We are so proud of how the students showed confidence and maturity when presenting their product. The feedback was incredible! Well done guys!
Briody Beddings, who have eagerly supported the programme throughout, kindly sponsored the bus fee. Thank you so much for your support!

Congratulations to our First Holy Communion class of 2019 who received the sacrament on Saturday, May 20th! Special thanks to Fr. O’Connor for celebrating the mass and to Clara and the choir for their superb singing. Super thanks to Mr. McKiernan for having the children so well prepared! The children performed their readings and gift offerings excellently. We are so proud!

We celebrated Wow (Walk on Wednesday) Day on Wednesday, May 15th as part of the Green Schools Programme. Lots of prizes were given for participating in walking/cycling/scooting to school. Our children showed their creative side by constructing special hats using recycled materials and informing us about climate change. We also went on a nice summer’s walk on our new paths!
