Fáilte go Scoil Naomh Fiach!

As Principal of St. Fiach’s N.S., I am thrilled to welcome you to our vibrant and close-knit school community. Nestled in Ballinacree, our school is a place where children flourish academically, socially, and spiritually. At St. Fiach’s, we celebrate the individuality of each student, helping them develop into confident and compassionate individuals, fully aware of their unique talents and role in the world.

We are especially proud of our rich tradition of academic excellence, participation in sports and the arts, and our commitment to environmental sustainability through initiatives like the Green Flag program. Our dedicated staff fosters a spirit of curiosity and creativity, guiding students through a range of enriching activities, from Seachtain na Gaeilge Week to Active Week celebrations, where fun and learning go hand in hand.

Our Catholic ethos inspires us to create a nurturing environment where children can deepen their faith, develop lasting friendships, and cultivate a positive attitude towards life. Tá sé mar aidhm againn cabhrú le gach páiste a bheith sásta agus muiníneach, agus muid ag forbairt ár gcreideamh mar phobal láidir agus tacúil.

Go raibh míle maith agat as do spéis, agus tá súil againn go mbainfidh tú taitneamh as d’eolas a fháil faoi Scoil Naomh Fiach.

We had great fun on our last day before the mid-term!! All the students dressed up and there were some fantastic costumes on show! Baby Shark also made an appearance!!

Assembly – October 2021

We had a wonderful assembly to lead us into the mid-term break. Thanks to the children for some fantastic recitals of their poems and songs. Well done to all on their extra curricular achievements.

Comhairgeadeas le Gaeilgeoirí na Míosa. Rinne siad an-iarracht lena gcuid Gaeilge i rith i Mí Meán Fómhair agus Deireadh Fómhair. Maith sibh agus leanaigí ar aghaidh.

Autumn Leaves (1st and 2nd)

1st and 2nd class students were busy collecting autumn leaves and their fruits. We had some wonderful discussions and the children examined each leaf and fruit. They made some lovely leaf rubbings at the end.

Rafts (Science – 3rd and 4th)

Our story in English this week was based on a group of children who were stranded in the Rainforest and had to build a raft to get out. We decided to have a go at building our own rafts and see if we could make it out of the jungle. We spent time planning and designing our rafts and got to put them to the test in science class. As we couldn’t get on them ourselves, we used bricks to represent passengers. Some fantastic design variations were on display and there are certainly some budding engineers in our class…..I guess this project just really floated our boat!
