We explored the school grounds and the graveyard to see what affects weathering has had on the world around us. We found some interesting changes, especially to anything made from concrete. We wonder how everything will look in 20 years time??

Fáilte go Scoil Naomh Fiach!
As Principal of St. Fiach’s N.S., I am thrilled to welcome you to our vibrant and close-knit school community. Nestled in Ballinacree, our school is a place where children flourish academically, socially, and spiritually. At St. Fiach’s, we celebrate the individuality of each student, helping them develop into confident and compassionate individuals, fully aware of their unique talents and role in the world.
We are especially proud of our rich tradition of academic excellence, participation in sports and the arts, and our commitment to environmental sustainability through initiatives like the Green Flag program. Our dedicated staff fosters a spirit of curiosity and creativity, guiding students through a range of enriching activities, from Seachtain na Gaeilge Week to Active Week celebrations, where fun and learning go hand in hand.
Our Catholic ethos inspires us to create a nurturing environment where children can deepen their faith, develop lasting friendships, and cultivate a positive attitude towards life. Tá sé mar aidhm againn cabhrú le gach páiste a bheith sásta agus muiníneach, agus muid ag forbairt ár gcreideamh mar phobal láidir agus tacúil.
Go raibh míle maith agat as do spéis, agus tá súil againn go mbainfidh tú taitneamh as d’eolas a fháil faoi Scoil Naomh Fiach.

We did an experiment to test the importance of soap in washing our hands. Washing our hands properly has always been important but even more so since the arrival of Covid-19. We used clear plastic tubs, tap water, pepper to represent germs and anti-bacterial soap. We found that when we just used water, the germs stuck to our hands. When we used soap, the germs were pushed away and did not stick to our hands. We will always use soap to wash our hands properly!

Well done to Ms. Reynolds and the students of 5th and 6th class for their wonderful collection following a sponsored walk in Mullaghmeen Forest. The Alzheimer Society of Ireland are a wonderful organisation who support families affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia. Thanks to everyone for supporting such a great cause.

Congratulations to our 3rd class students who made their First Holy Communion on Saturday, September 25th in St. Brigid’s church. They read beautifully and are a credit to the school. Thanks to Fr. O’Connor for the lovely service and to Mr. Clarke for the lovely music.

A hearty congratulations to Moylagh U12s who beat Castletown on Saturday in the county final. St. Fiach’s was well represented on the day. We are so proud of you girls!
